Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama...Come on pretty mama

Ok we are stumped!! Dave and I have no idea where to go on a honeymoon!! First of all here's where I disappeared to this past week...Chrissy my wonderful bridesmaid that is preggo...you know the one due 6 days before the wedding?? Yeah she is having the baby NOW! She has toxemia and they put her in the hospital on Tuesday. We just got back and they had broke her water and given her the patosin (the medicine that I cannot spell!) to help speed her along. So to be helpful and take some stress off of her, I have planned her lessons for the next few weeks and gotten everything at school done with and taken care of. Now back to honeymooning!

We cannot decide where to go. I always wanted to go to somewhere warm and tropical and we are going to go in December while I am on Christmas break. So we were just talking about it and Dave says "put it on the blog". Ok, now he is using my blog for his own purposes haha! But seriously, where do you all think a good honeymoon spot would be? Where did some of you go...or where have you always wanted to go?

I wouldn't mind Hawaii although I know how expensive everything over there is. I would like to try out one of those all inclusive resorts, but seriously I know I'm not going to want to lay on the beach in a bikini (I might have lost weight but we are not bikini ready by any means!) and drink mai tais all day...no matter how appealing that sounds! I know you can go off of some of the resorts, but I don't want to be in a new country and be all nervous you know. Dave thought of Europe but then he said it would be colder in the winter time so we would have to wait for summer. I thought of going to Disney World...then I wasn't super impressed because it's mostly the same rides and then there's Epcot and the Animal World and stuff. But I don't know that I would like all the other stuff. So if that's the case, we could just go back to Disney Land and then go to the beaches down around San Diego or up by Carmel and Montery, but then Dave said he thought those places burned. So really we have no idea! And neither one of us have any real expectations for the honeymoon. It's not like one of us is saying oh well I want to be able to snorkle so we know it needs to be beach like. We have no idea at all!

So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Dave would love you all a very long time...and I will too :)

Gosh talk about all over the place! Ok, when Bernard and I were planning our honeymoon we also had no idea where it was we wanted to go. We just knew we wanted to go somewhere tropical. First thought with us was Hawaii, but it was almost twice as expensive as other places. After a suggestion, we ended up deciding on Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We stayed in this fabulous all-inclusive resort outside of town. The day we got there was actually the first day of the rainy season, so there weren't tons of people at the resort and it wasn't 100 degrees either. But we took advantage of every minute there. We did a lot of the activities at the resort, like a honeymooner’s competition (we won of course!). We also went on a couple tours. We had a great time. The best part is we were with each other experiencing it all together.

I think you should try to narrow it down to maybe 3-5 places. Plan the whole trip for each. Pick the hotels, pick your activities, and plan it all as if that is where you are going. Make a list of everything you would do and then compare and see what fits you guys the best. Also by doing that, you will be able to compare all the prices as well. My family was planning on going to Hawaii next December and prices were really reasonable. So don't just rule it out because you heard it was expensive. Not sure if any of this helps, but hope so!

P.S. I highly recommend an all-inclusive resort, if it is something you guys can do.

Wow, sounds like you've been pretty busy.
I can't really give you any honeymoon advice because Jarret and I never even had a honeymoon thanks to the Army...
But I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, I think that would be a great honeymoon place :)

Hope everything is going well with your friend.

Okay honeymoon locals. I have been to Bermuda a couple of times and love it! I am not sure about the weather this time of year as it being hurricaine season and they usually get hit pretty hard. It is also really expensive. I was going to suggest Mexico too. I have been there a couple of times too and love it. It is cheap and beautiful and they have wonderful all inclusive resorts. I have never been there this time of year though. I have been to Hawaii too, and it is wonderful. We went to Hawaii in January and the weather was perfect so it was nice to get out of the cold rainy weather and hit some beautiful beaches.

Gosh decisions decisions..have you been to Mexico before? I think any place you choose will be great, because you are with each other. I think cost wise Mexico is the best bet. But maybe if you go to Hawaii in the spring or winter you may be able to find some cheaper rate now.

Well, I've heard Cabo San Lucas in Mexico has awesome resorts and beaches.

My sister says the must see island in the Caribbean is St. Maarten.

Check those out girl...that's where I wanna go! Good luck!

You could go on a cruise to some warm islands. Cruises are packed with things to do and you won't be laying around drinking mai tais all day, but you could if you wanted. :)

We went to Costa Rica in November.
It was warm, sunny, and we were in a "relatively" secluded area.
We flew into Liberia, and then stayed in the Guanacaste area on a black sand beach.

Ooh I like Lainey's Costa Rica idea- I think the seasons are opposite below the equator, aren't they? So December should be summer if you went somewhere southern, right? Eh I could have just made that up...

We went to Jamaica and stayed at the couple's all inclusive Sandals resort in Negril. I loved staying at an all inclusive because you never had to worry about meals or tipping or anything. There were tons of activities and stuff that you could do through the resort that did not involve bathing suits as well. I know there are resorts everywhere- Mexico sounds fun too!

I want to go on my honeymoon AGAIN! I think we should get them annually!

Not sure where to post this but I wanted to ask if anyone has heard of National Clicks?

Can someone help me find it?

Overheard some co-workers talking about it all week but didn't have time to ask so I thought I would post it here to see if someone could help me out.

Seems to be getting alot of buzz right now.

Thanks
